The Folk Club in Dunfermline started way back in the 1960s with names such as Barbara Dixon turning up regularly to play and sing. I have been a member off and on since the late 70s and was organiser for 4 years in the early 80s. Since then the club has had a variety of venues and organisers including The Belleville, St. Margaret's Hotel(Maggies), The Roadhouse and its present home - The Thistle Tavern which is at 191 Baldridgeburn Dunfermline.
The club night is Wednesday from 8:30 and there is either a guest night, a spot night (lesser know guests) or a club singaround (featuring local singers) every week. There is also a Folk Weekend usually the first weekend in October with a Friday night guest spot, Saturday night ceilidh and Sunday sessions. We also have workshops on the Saturday.
